Kick-off Meeting for the “Strengthening Intermodal Transport Services in Turkish Railway Sector” Project was held
The kick-off meeting of the “Strengthening Intermodal Transport Services in the Turkish Railway Sector Project”, which will be carried out under the Sectoral Operational Program for Transport (USOP), was held on 18 October 2022 with the participation of senior officials from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the Delegation of the EU to Türkiye and the Contractor Consortium. The opening speeches of the meeting, hosted by the Strategy Development of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, were made by Burak AYKAN, Director General of EU and Foreign Relations, Yunus Emre AYÖZEN (PhD), Director of the Strategy Development Directorate and Göktuğ KARA, Delegation of the EU to Türkiye Transport Sector Manager.
At the meeting where the details about the project implementation were shared, Mr Levent ERGEN, General Manager of the consortium leader, Team Leader Mr Salvatore D’ALFONSO and transportation economist Mr Tom KENNEDY made their presentations on behalf of the Consortium. The commencement date of the project was set as October 24th 2022.
Tijen İĞCI (PhD), the Head of Department for EU Investments and Demet CAVCAV (PhD), the Head of Transport Planning Department also participated the meeting.
